FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is THIS SATURDAY!

Free Comic Book Day at Austin Books
We will be hosting inside the old Sidekick Location!

Check out the sections!

  • Green tables are All-Ages (rated G)
  • Yellow are Not All Ages (rated PG)
  • Orange are Teen+ (rated PG-13)
  • Red are MATURE (rated R)

Every person will receive 10 FREE COMIC BOOK DAY BOOKS. We will also have a huge HUGE section of freebies under the outside tent, a Guzu pop-up Shop, $5 Sale, Special Guests, and more!!

Year of the Villain
Plus, everyone gets a bonus 11th comic — it’s DC’s Year of the Villain Austin Books Custom Edition!

Special Guests Include:

  • Meet Lilah Sturges, writer of Lumberjanes FCBD Book From 8am – Noon
  • Monica Gallagher will be in attendance Noon – 5pm. Grab the HCF GHOST FRIENDS FOREVER MINI COMIC and get it signed!
  • Bill Williams and Matthew Weldon will be here 2pm – 5pm signing copies of Punchline FCBD issue!

Our biggest day of the year!

Each fan who joins us on Free Comic Book Day Saturday, May 4th (8am – 6pm) will be able to choose 10 FREE COMICS from a wide selection available in our huge tent set-up, many of which lead into the biggest events and new series of the year!

FCBD is an all-ages event! We’ve organized the comics for our recommendations for age-appropriateness. Parents, we’re here to make sure you’re getting the right book for your young readers!

Austin Books, Guzu Gallery, Outlaw Moon, & The Sidekick Store will each be having a drawing for a $100 Gift Card, good at all of our stores. Stop by each one on FCBD to increase your chances of winning!

The Sidekick Store will have a special sale all day during Free Comic Book Day.

Want to be prepared for Free Comic Book Day? Here are some helpful hints:

  • See what all will be available at freecomicbookday.com! That way you’ll know what to get when it’s your turn to pick.
  • Use Snapchat? Check out our special Free Comic Book Day filter!
  • Free parking will be available in the big lot across the street this year.
  • Stay hydrated if it’s hot. The line doesn’t take long, but we do have water and drinks available.
  • When you pick out your ten comics, bring them to our tent staff. We’ll put them in a bag with your name so you can visit our stores and enter our drawings!
  • Costumes are encouraged! We have a special costume photo area available this year.
  • Be sure to tag your photos @AustinBooks so we can share them!

It’s the biggest day of the year for comic book fans – FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!

Free Comic Book Day returns May 5th, 2018, to Austin Books! Get ten free comics per person, visit the stores, and get prizes from our PRIZE TENT! Games, Cosplayers, Photo-Ops and MORE!

We’ll have more news and updates, so be sure to check back for a reminder and new info!

How does it work?

  • Line up outside the tent
  • Pick out any 10 comics want from the racks in the tent
  • That’s it! Totally free!

 

Comics will be clearly marked with content ratings from all ages to mature audiences only.
