Austin Books & Comics 40 Year Anniversary
2017 marks 40 years of your favorite local comic book store, Austin Books & Comics! In celebration of this, we’ll be having some new features over the next few weeks and months.

We have lots of fun stuff planned throughout the year, so keep an eye out for our ongoing celebration!

We recently asked, what superhero or villain has the best costume?

Share your own in the comments section below!

Check back next week for the start of an extra special new feature, and be sure to Like Us On Facebook for more 40th anniversary festivities!

Bucky as Captain America
Doctor Doom

Captain America is my favorite comic character, and Bucky as Cap was a fantastic twist on the classic design that combined the iconic elements of the character with his darker, assassin/spy background.

Doctor Doom, in addition to easily being Marvel’s greatest supervillain, has a great costume that shows off the magic, technological, and royal aspects of the character all in one amazing, iconic design.

-Patrick K.

Classic Wolverine
Always and forever, this Wolverine costume.

-Stephen P.

Uncanny X-Men Cyclops
The most recent Cyclops costume from Uncanny X-Men!

-Garrett E.

Hero: Spider-man. Villain: Deathstroke

-Darnell W.

Green Lantern Hal Jordan
Green Lantern John Stewart

Green Lanterns. Both John and Hal. Tie. Best villain: Galactus

-Ryan S.

Brad reads?! Road trip bk 6; Snotgirl v1. I’ve been told this book wasn’t written for me and I agree, though I’m still intrigued. Fashion blogger. Severe allergies. Mystery medicine. Powers? This book sells great and I’m really interested in what happens next. I’ll grab v2. https://t.co/91EUqOnibC AustinBooks photo

Brad reads?! Book 5; Thor God of Thunder v1 by Jason Aaron & Esad Ribic. This reminded me of Thor comics when I was a kid, with a fresh threat to Odinson. Norse history, modern threats, really enjoyable. The only problem I have with this book is that I didn’t bring along book 2. https://t.co/0hzUB6efRn AustinBooks photo

Brad reads!? Road trip book 4; Manhattan Projects v1. Alternative history with parallel dimensions and an evil (redacted)? I’m in. Really enjoyed this volume by Jonathan Hickman and Austin’s own Nick Pitarra. Highly recommended for fans of speculative fiction, or kinetic art! https://t.co/vT4eomVYmo AustinBooks photo
