Austin Books & Comics All Ages is meeting up again: This time to discuss Teen Dog! Join us – all ages are welcome!
What’s to Love: Teen Dog is John Hughes movies meets ’90s Nickelodeon cartoons, two of our absolute favorite things. It’s a totally awesome adventure that stars the canine that spun out of Jake Lawrence’s web comic Time Cowboy and kickflipped his way into our hearts.
What It Is: Skateboards, football games, prom…your teenage years have got nothin’ on the raddest dude that’s ever graced a denim vest. Written and illustrated by Jake Lawrence (Time Cowboy), join Teen Dog and his best friend Mariella as they tackle typical teen life with a manic twist. Growing up is an adventure, and you might as well rock it! Collects the complete eight-issue miniseries.
***NOTE: This is a combined Nov/Dec book club and is meeting the FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER. The next meeting will be in January 2018***
Doctor Doom, Deadpool, even Thanos: There’s one hero who’s beaten them all – and now she’s starring in her own series! That’s right, it’s SQUIRREL GIRL! The nuttiest and most upbeat super hero in the world is starting college! And as if meeting her new roommate and getting to class on time isn’t hard enough, now she has to deal with Kraven the Hunter, too? At least her squirrel friend Tippy-Toe is on hand to help out. But what can one girl, and one squirrel, do when a hungry Galactus heads toward Earth? You’d be surprised! With time running out and Iron Man lending a helping hand (sort of), who will win in the battle between the Power Cosmic and the Power Chestnut?

The $5 Sale Returns
November 25th, 2017
(the day after Black Friday)
The last few $5 sales have been lame, BOO! We tried dragging out the same tired stuff leftover from the previous sales and it just wasn't worth it. So boring, and we decided to take some time off. But... now we've recharged our batteries and stocked up on specially available march that is totally worth your time (and $5). We've accumulated boxes and boxes of awesome stuff for you to pick through, and we're going to add some Graphic Novels and Hardcover books from Sidekick as well.
Even better, to continue the fun of the 40th Anniversary, we're going to add a few wrinkles.
First, buy one item for $5, or get 10 for $40 (ten or more items selected for a single purchase are $4 each).
Second, we're going to work in a carnival component. For every $20 you spend at any of the Austin Books stores (or the $5 tent) on Saturday the 25th, get a ticket good for items in our PRIZE TENT. Lots of plush and goodies for Christmas gifts.
Blankets HC by Craig Thompson, the award-winning creator is back in stock. Ten lucky customers will be able to take home this beauty for $39.95 (minus the customary Austin Books 10% graphic novel and tpb discount.)
Available Friday November 17th, around noon. Leave a comment below or send a direct message if you’d like up to save you a copy. First come, first served. Local sales and local pick up only. ... See MoreSee Less
